Today while walking to work, I began to get frustrated with all of the people either stopping to talk in the middle of the walk way, or just walking without purpose. What’s walking without purpose you ask-people who are walking and instead of asking for directions/guidance they would much rather be “lost”. You may ask why did God show that to me? Well, I asked the same question. LOL, God was showing me how easy it is to look every which way, but up. See, so many people relay on their GPS to tell them where to go, it’s like their bible nowadays. BUT, little do you know. God is the only GPS you will ever need. For example-When you’re moving through life and you feel like each turn you make, you arrive at a dead end. A lot of times you curse the “enemy” for misleading you. Well, get ready for this. The enemy can’t do ANYTHING without God’s approval. As I’m typing this, I am reminded of a trip I took 2 summers ago to New York. I went to visit a friend and while we had fun, a few things kept happening that I didn’t quite understand. We had set out for a night of fun in the city, when we quickly became lost. While I was waiting for her to find her way, God spoke and literally knocked the wind out of me. HE said, you will continue to be lost following those that are lost themselves. Now let me tell you, that shook me up like you wouldn’t believe. She did nothing wrong, I was at the right place at the right time. See, God had to get me out of my element- HE will take you to a place and will show you were NOT to be all at the same time. Make sense? (I’ll come back to this later) The morning before we left-my husband and I almost got into a car accident, the bus was delayed, it broke down it was a hot mess but GOD! Every calamity that I had endured back then and a lot along the way, prepared me for this very moment. My sense of direction comes from God-I chose to accept him fully, not paying attention to anything else but him. When I’m lost, he finds me and shows me how to get back on track. I am NOT a saint, and I don’t pretend to be. What I am, is a child of God. Who’s NOT afraid to speak his word, believe HIM for everything and teach his word to all that will listen. HE chose me, and while it is a constant struggle of being torn between believing if I’m worthy of what he has called me to do and leaving certain people/things behind-I would much rather have him guide me, than an automated voice telling me to turn here, stop here- move there. When I pray, that is me entering in my location, when he speaks that is him giving me my direction. The next time you find yourself being lost, unsure of which way to look.. Look UP! His word tells us to Look towards the hills, whence cometh my help.

Whitney Houston, in my opinion sung this song best. Her voice seemed to capture the words so beautifully.
When you're down and in despair Don't be uneasy because he'll be there Say don't you worry, no don't you fret The Lord has never, never failed you yet [Chorus:] So hold on, help is on the way Hold on, God is on his way Hey hold on he's on his way He told me to hold on He's on his way Hold on he's coming soon Pray, he'll be there Cmon now, yeah Now when it seems that you can't stand Just hold on to God's unchanging hand Yeah, weeping may, yes, endure for just one night, But joy will come in the morning light [Chorus:] Hold on he's on his way Come on hold on See I've tried it and I know Help is on the way Hold on, hold on I'm begging cause I know He's on his way He may not come when you want him But he's right on time But he'll be right there (on time) Help is on the way Help is on the way Help is on the way yeah The word told me If I ask he's on his way I'm thankful cause I know he is Come on just say, help Come on just try, help Ask him for a little bit, help He'll give it to you right away, help Help, Believe he's on his way now, help Help, Know the help I know, help I've called him before, help He said his help on his way, help Help is on the way So glad to know hey... Woo This song is so powerful and encouraging. Why? Just look at the words, they seem to JUMP out you! They( the words) are describing just how AWESOME God is. How many of you have been down? Maybe your friends don't want to be friends anymore-Maybe your boy/girlfriend isn't ready to take that next step with you-Perhaps, your job is in jeopardy or your simply down from the monotony of life. God is there, carrying you through. Maybe you've asked him WHY and all of a sudden you turn on the radio and hear this song-Maybe you've asked him for a new job and the phone rings or you check your email and there is a message saying Help wanted-God is AWE(SOME) in that way. HE knows all about your needs before they even become one. HE knew that, your friend was going to leave you, before they even met you. HE knew that the boy/girl friend that you loved so much was only here for a season-HE never told you to get comfortable, he only told you to open your heart. A lot of times, people aren't meant to stay, they are only placed for a reason/season. God wants you to seek him FIRST, before making any changes in your life so that HE can give you a lifetime of happiness. HE Is your way maker, HE is the only one who holds the answers; if you HOLD ON to receive them. He'll send you the answers on HIS time, which is ALWAYS THE RIGHT TIME! We tend to move so quickly that even when we are holding on, we miss what he's saying because were holding on, and still worrying at the same time. When God speaks, it's not going to be a lengthy conversation like it would be if you asked a friend for help. HE is going to shake things up in a way that you'll KNOW it only came from HIM. The next time your faced with adversity, and you need HELP.. Call the name JESUS! Say to him" Father, I know you know what is going on in my life-I need you,I need you to come rescue me. The enemy is trying to confuse me, and sift me like wheat, but I know that all I need to do is call on the name JESUS and you are on your way. Please, help me, please show me what I need to do, to make things right with you first. Help me to stay out of the pit, versus going in, and fighting a battle that isn't mine to fight. Keep me standing firm, while holding onto your unchanging hand. In Jesus Name.. Amen. If you pray that prayer, I believe that help is on the way. My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. Are you looking at your current situation, wondering when will it be over? Are you saying to yourself, why is this happening to me? Where is your Faith? Everyone has an "IT" the difference is, how will you handle your "IT"? Will you mope, complain or wonder why? OR will you seek God for guidance? Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, For I know the plans the plans I have for you, Plans to prosper, not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Before you had a name, God had a purpose for your life. He already knew who you were you going to be, what your life would be like, what job you were you going to choose-HE even knew that you would stray away from him. BUT HE also knew that you would come back to him. Sometimes we tend to go through life, blindly; afraid of failing, afraid of living, so we choose to follow everyone but the RIGHT one. We keep looking for tangible evidence to help us feel comfortable and secure that things will work out. Hebrews 11:1 tells us"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" if you look at the actual definition of "Faith" it reads "complete trust or confidence in someone or something" If we are willing to BELIEVE that our situations can turn around in the blink of an eye, your stirring up your Faith. The question is, who will you place your FAITH with? The only one you should place your faith in, is GOD. HE has control over EVERYTHING. Believe that HE is with you-Believe that HE is guiding you every step of the way. Sometimes you hear a soft voice telling you "not to travel down a certain road" or to not go to a certain place-that voice that you hear is God. When you listen to it, your again activating your faith. Your trusting his words even though you don't see him. That is faith.
I encourage you all to activate your faith, I encourage you to trust that HE is with you! 1Corinthians 13:13-And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Prior to my husband and I deciding to get married, we had been faced with some true struggles that usually tear most relationships apart. Finances, communication, and both struggling with some deep rooted issues, seemed to be the theme of our relationship. We had begun to detach emotionally, and physically. What else was left, we both thought. I've always been a runner, if something doesn't fit or "jive" well. I put on my Nike sneakers and head for the hills. My older sister would always tell me, instead of you dealing with the issues, you would much rather place them in a bag and toss them out. That was then-you see, even in the mist of our trials, God had begun creating our testimony. He began showing us, individually what our lives would be like without the other. He(husband)went on vacation, and while he was away; I fasted, and meditated. Not realizing God would have him do the same. I remember being in our living room, crying out to the Lord and him speaking to me as if he was an old friend sitting on my couch. He said, the man that you knew that went down, will not be the same one returning. HE was right. I remember talking to him( my husband) on the phone while he was on vacation, and he seemed so relaxed and free speaking to me. I felt the EXACT same way. He(my husband) said, babe, I don't know what it is, but you seem so different. I said, yeah, you too. One of the scriptures that God gave me, that we used in our ceremony, 4 months later was 1Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. After it is all said and done, the three things that remain, will be faith(believing things that are unseen) hope(a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen) and love(an intense feeling of deep affection) No matter what he and I endured, God said it didn't matter. The love that we shared, was enough to sustain even the most difficult circumstances. Love covers a multitude of things-Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through . |
